Asia Today Arizona is a monthly publication covering events and happenings related to the South Asian community of Arizona. Our focus is the community based in Arizona that descends from the subcontinent of Asia including countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives, and the British Indian Ocean Territory.

While there is a wealth of channels available to hear about happenings around the world and many newspapers in Arizona that focus on local happenings, there was not an avenue to highlight the events and successes of the South Asian community.  Asia Today Arizona was founded to address that niche market – providing coverage of events within the South Asian community that are not publicized in the local Arizona newspapers.  

Manju Walia, Marketing Director, is the heart and soul of the newspaper and this venture was conceived by her in 2006 and came to fruition at the auspicious time of Diwali 2007.  Since then, we have been blessed with the tremendous support of family, friends, supporters, volunteers, advertisers, and readers.

Our Mission:

Asia Today’s primary mission and focus is LOCAL! We provide coverage for local South Asian events, interviews with South Asian residents, and advertising for businesses looking to target this growing sub-community. We also include information of value that impacts their lives such as health, real estate, politics, etc. through our professional, volunteer writers.  An overarching vision is to spread knowledge about the rich make-up of cultures and religions from the various countries and regions that make up the South Asian subcontinent, as well as highlight their contributions to the local and national economy through this coverage. 

We aim to provide a pleasant experience to readers of diverse ages and backgrounds.   Our digital website and newspaper is aimed at the tech savvy generations looking to read all about it on the go.  However, we have a print publication in large quantity aimed at the generations that are used to holding a physical newspaper with their morning cup of chai/coffee!

Newspapers can be mailed to your home or picked up at South Asian businesses around the valley such as restaurants, grocery stores, and religious places of worship.
